What an amazing event! Unfortunately I couldn’t join as I had some last minute plans. Any idea why you chose the northern route @MANDELA? Usually they use the southern route for DXB-JED which takes you over the empty quarter.

Haha lol it’s fine. Just caught me off guard lol. Believe it or not, even the route to Medina doesn’t use this flight plan. It uses the southern one 😆

Dubai Ground controller here. First, thank you all for coming by DXB and participating in this event.
Second, not going to lie, I was not expecting the mountain of an attendance today, so I’d like to apologise if service quality diminished at any point in time. I’m aware some pilots had some communication issues with myself, but regardless, sorry for any extended delays in reply. I’ve seen the traffic at the daily hubs but man tonight was just different 😭 Nonetheless. hope you all enjoy your flights! 🫡

Adding on to this Showcase I really enjoyed this flight with tons of people. But at the same time, I felt bad for the ATC with alot of work! But I want to say an amazing job from the Atc I had no issues with them in means of communications.
