The Texas Triangle: Southwest Virtual Airlines Reopening!
To celebrate the return of Southwest Virtual Airlines in our sixth year, we are hosting an event honoring the flights that started Southwest Airlines 55 years ago. The Texas Triangle represents the first three SWA routes between Dallas Love Field (KDAL), Houston William P. Hobby Airport (KHOU), and San Antonio International Airport (KSAT). The first SWA route map was written on a cocktail napkin in 1966 when Rollin King explained his vision to Herb Kelleher; together, they founded Air Southwest on March 15, 1967. Four years later, the airline relaunched as Southwest Airlines Co. It served the Texas Triangle for nearly 8 years before expanding to other markets.
We invite the Infinite Flight Community to celebrate SWVA’s reopening to the public with this fun demonstration flight! Start by departing from one of the three airports, performing a touch-and-go at the other two fields, and landing again at your origin! Expect preferred routing and final gate assignments to be published the day before the event. Be sure to join us for this massively fun event, and thanks for showing Southwest Virtual your LUV!

SWVA invites you to join us in this historic demonstration flight as we celebrate our reopening!
The route SWVA will fly is as follows:
- Takeoff from KDAL
- Touch and Go at KHOU
- Touch and Go at KSAT
- Land back at KDAL
However, pilots are welcome to fly any other route by spawning at either KHOU or KSAT, performing a touch-and-go at the other 2 airports, then returning to their origin airport.
