Airport - Vancouver International Airport [CYVR]
We will be departing 26L/08R wherever you are for realisms sake. Unless we get many attendees, we may use both 26L/08R and 26R/08L.
Vancouver is the heart and soul of British Columbia, if not, Canada. Its one of the best rated cities in the world. The airport itself is very clean and highly rated. Vancouver Airport connects many countries and cities to Vancouver with over 300 flights a day as of 2019. The 2020 year has unfortunately given Vancouver a decrease in flights over 70%. Fortunately, it is starting to recover. Vancouver is known for its beautiful terrain with the Ts’ilʔos Mountain Range located north. Vancouver airport is also only 6.5 miles away from downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is also the most densely populated city in Canada!
Vancouver is home to 8 major sports teams! Vancouver International Airport has over 170 restaurants and shops spread throughout the terminals! Fun fact! Did you know that YVR has its own support dogs? Yes! You heard that right! You can find them Mondays through Fridays in any terminal! Vancouver airport is also known for its Culture in Art in the entrance to the airport! Many sculptures can be found at check-in, security, and in the terminals! All of this sounds amazing, right? Well that’s not all! Vancouver is a main shipping port for Cargo from Asia. Vancouver has more Asia routes then Europe, USA, South America, Oceania, and Africa!
This event is based off of real Vancouver Airport routes. Pattern work will possibly not be allowed depending on attendees. For IFATC, it is yet to be determined as new event rules do not allow us to request ATC.

Welcome to the official Air Canada Virtual Airlines thread. It’s my privilege to be leading this VA as I can’t wait to see how much we improve in the coming months! The VA is one of the most welcoming out there and what I have realized is that no matter if this is your third or your first time being in a VA, you will feel welcomed here. Thank you for checking out our VA and we hope to see you aboard soon!
