240kts <10,000 Warning removed on Expert Server (Read before reply)

MaxSez: 250/10K is an FAA Rule not a Guideline! Here are the US FAR/AIM citations:
The following maximum speeds apply in the US (A few aren’t based on altitude, but I’ve included them to be more complete.
NOTE: IF utilizes US FAA Regulations Worldwide utilizing the “KISS” Principle.

91.817: No Mach 1 over land (with a few exceptions that are noted in Appendix B to 91.817)
91.117(a): 250 KIAS below 10,000 ft. MSL
91.117(b): 200 KIAS below 2,500 ft. within 4NM of the primary airport for Class C and D airspace (unless within Class B airspace)
91.117(c): 200 KIAS under the shelf of Class B airspace
91.117(c): 200 KIAS in a VFR corridor through Class B airspace
AIM 5-3-8(2): Maximum holding speeds:
At or below 6,000 ft. 200 KIAS
6,001 to 14,000 ft. 230 KIAS
Above 14,000 ft 265 KIAS
Some NOTAMs specify a maximum speed when operating within their limits.
AIM 5-7-2: Maximum speed as assigned by ATC
91.117(d): Any of these speeds may be exceeded if the minimum safe airspeed for the aircraft is higher and you notify ATC.
91.101 and AIM 5-7-2 NOTE 2 state that none of these apply when more than 12 NM from the coast of the US. Because of this, you will often see pilots fly at greater than 250 KIAS when below 10,000 feet and more than 12 NM off-shore. (This one should be remembered in you challenge a violation offshore SoCal bound to/for SanClemente KNUC outside the ADIZ)

There would need to be extra training before a lifting of the ban occurs. People need to learn about maintaining separation from the preceding aircraft for a start.

Often on expert I takeoff, using an appropriate level of FLEX/reduced thrust, before setting climb power at 1500ft and cleaning up as in reality.

Even though controllers leave a gap between a/c, I still have people behind me using full power all the way up to 250kts immediately after takeoff, then following the same departure routing as me and entering into conflict - other pilots trying to be realistic suffer the same, so there needs to be an emphasis on alternating departures north/south etc, and sensible speed controls below FL100

MaxSez @747life… “Noise Abatement” launch procedure! Your really upping the ante my friend. There still scratching there head trying to figure out what “under the Shelf” means from my previous comment. LOL

@Maxmustang Keeps the realism up…and gives them an education😂

Terrible idea. This has been one of the original rules on the server. This isn’t going away anytime soon.

This will never happen and to be honest this post should be closed because this is so called “clogging” up the forums. FAA rules and regulations say 250kts below 10,000ft that will never change.

If you don’t have the time to fly, don’t fly on the expert server. That’s the only plausible solution to not removing this feature.

Pro tip, fly solo and you’ll not have this problem.

Did you read Max post at all? 😉

As usual a lot of FUD from the “veterans and masters” peanut gallery. A free for all isn’t what is being requested. Please read all posts and ideas before automatically dismissing any notion of change.

Ultimately it’s up to the developers if they even give this a chance.

They will never change it, why would they make it so unrealistic, I would literally stop playing this Sim if it wasn’t as realstic as it is now. Even if they did change it Goodluck landing in a busy airspace without having to race someone to the runway. If you want to mess around go to the casual server and do whatever you want that’s what it’s for, The expert server is for the most closest experience you can get to being in a plane and flying.

What part of outbound only, specific aircraft, ATC permission granted is so difficult to comprehend? It’s a known IRL procedure and the process would be completely under control from beginning to end if at all implemented. 🤔

I was saying if there was no ATC around and you are just communicating through Unicom, I’m sorry I should have noted that

Right. It would have to be Pilot requested like pushback, taxi, takeoff and ATC approved.

No Unicom.

Now I could understand that.
