22.4 crashes all the time. And why

is the Search feature in Support so useless?

Same here it just did that to me on my descent into PHNL

My guess is that the lights they added have been too much for some devices

Noted. The worst part is that it keeps happening on short final, so I have been robbed of a bunch of landings. (Plus I am stubborn, so I keep trying.) It absolutely refuses to let me land at KSMO. I tried KTOA, and successfully landed and parked. Then it crashed.

I have 22 GB of space on a newish iPad (5th Gen) and I know the troubleshooting methods; using IF practically since Day 1. (BTW, clearing the scenery cache only effects scenery; maybe.) I want to maintain Grade 5, but right now I feel like throwing it through a window. I am not going to buy new device just to run IF, no matter how much I love the app.

The iPad (5th Gen) is not remotely new (it’s nearly 5 years old hardware-wise). What graphics settings are you running?

Hello,
Do you play with 60 FPS and max graphics ?
Because DO NOT play with 60 FPS and use Medium~Low graphics and play with 30 FPS. Does your iPad have the lasted udapte ? If yes, udapte it.

Hey There!

Think this might answer some questions.

You make a good point. I am behind a few chips. I turned off Anti-Aliasing and made the Frame rate limit 30fps when the device started running hot. All other Graphics settings are on High. It was fine until 22.4. It is a 128 GB, so I will delete more apps and other projects. Thanks.

Mine doesn’t crash that often and I use high graphics on takeoff and approach/landing. I turn it to low during cruise, though.

My KSMO headache went away (for now), with the 22.5 update. I was so sure that it would crash again, I neglected my descent rate, landed too fast, and eventually ran off the runway and into those nice homes off of 23rd. Thanks for everyone’s input.
