For those of you that are into aviation and Formula 1, such as myself, you might find this post interesting!
As a fan of both of these things, I am fascinated by the logistics of Formula 1 and the sheer amount of planning that goes into delivering just one race. I work for Red Bull Racing in the real world and am fortunate enough to be able to build parts that go on Verstappen and Perez’s cars that are transported all over the globe to compete in these races.
As some of you may know, the 2024 season is delivering a record breaking 24 races to fans all around the globe. I had some spare time over the mid-season shutdown so made a commercial travel plan for all of the races this season and might end up flying some in Infinite Flight! I researched real world flights between each location and found out the airlines that operate between them and the aircraft they use. I made sure that all aircraft types included had their corresponding liveries available to use in Infinite Flight and stated alternative aircraft to use for ones that don’t. I also added a column showing if the flight is possible with the Challenger 350 (private) and 777-F (cargo). (I am aware other private and cargo types are available)
Feel free to let me know if anything doesn’t seem right or if you would like me to add anything! I’m interested to know your thoughts, especially from you Formula 1 fans!
Disclaimer: I know that teams return to their HQ after a lot of the races however for simplicity reasons this is a continuous route between all races. Flights also may not be to the airport that is closest to the track, but to the airport that makes the most sense.
A map of all race locations can be found below:
The season kicks off at the Bahrain International Circuit and moves through a staggering 21 countries and 5 continents, ending in Abu Dhabi for the season finale.
Here is the table I made containing all real world flights that operate:
Overall, a total of 80,200 miles and exactly 159h of flight time! That is enough to fly around the globe 3.2 times.
Feel free to use this table to fly routes that you are interested in and let me know if you do!
