Spotting at EGLL
Hiya! The other day I decided to go spotting at EGLL, with an old camera I found. It was the first time actually spotting (not using an iPhone through an airplane window), and I had a great time spotting some jumbos, not so jumbos and some dumbos. Anyhow, have a look and do feel free to vote on your favourite one! I also collated all of the flights into an Excel spreadsheet and managed to get some statistics of my trip - Do check them out below.
Statistics
Some random statistics of my trip:
AIRCRAFT MANUFACTORER: | Total: |
---|---|
Airbus: | 48 {77.4%} |
ATR: | 1 {1.6%} |
Boeing: | 11 {17.7%} |
Embraer: | 2 {3.2%} |
Other: | 0 |
TOTAL: | 62 |
Evidently Airbus clearly dominates the EGLL market. |
AIRCRAFT TYPE: | Total: |
---|---|
Airbus A320-200: | 19 {30.6%} |
Airbus A320neo: | 7 {11.3%} |
Airbus A321-200: | 0 |
Airbus A321neo: | 6 {9.7%} |
Other: | 30 {48.4%} |
Almost a third of all the aircraft landing were A320ceos! Sheesh! Also a bit odd that there were no A321ceos. The top aircraft in the ‘Other’ category was the 777-300ER with 3. |
AIRLINE: | Total: |
---|---|
British Airways: | 23 {37.1%} |
Virgin Atlantic: | 2 {3.2%} |
Other: | 37 {59.7%} |
British Airways takes a clear domination in the market. Oddly enough, although Virgin Atlantic is based here, there were not many arrivals. This is to do with the time of day and the frequency of flights. |
