17th Anniversary of Air France 4590

On this day 17 years ago (July 25, 2000), Air France flight 4590 crashed shortly after takeoff from Charles de Gaulle Intl Airport due to the aircraft running over debris from a DC-10 that took off just before, puncturing a fuel tank, and causing a huge fire. The crew tried to land at a nearby airport, but could not due to the distance. The Concorde crashed into a hotel killing all 109 on board and 4 in the hotel, resulting in 113 deaths. This was the first crash of the Concorde, resulting in the whole fleet to be grounded. We will forever remember this day in history.
