150 knots of wind?!


I am currently on a flight from New York to London in the. Traning server when I saw the wind t 34000ft

I had 170 knots of wind flying from New York to Frankfurt on Expert yesterday 💨

Nothing abnormal for the jet stream. It’s went as high as 225 knots before. Also I run the hurricane hunters virtual organization, we run into this stuff frequently anyways lol

Welp that’s a little different. You’re actively seeking out the strongest winds for fun. I don’t think the passengers going to London or anywhere across the ocean were “thrill-seeking” 😭

Oh yeah I forgot about that. It’s fun until you need to use the bathroom. Once almost gave myself a super vacuum swirly on an a321 but saved it from happening

Definitely happens, especially in the Atlantic.

The Atlantic/Pacific tracks are meant to take advantage of or avoid these wind fluctuations depending on direction.

Given you’re flying east, just roll with it and let it carry you. Maybe even increase your speed a bit to optimize the value depending on your load.
