San Francisco International Airport is the 2nd busiest airport in California and the 7th busiest in the United States. It serves as a hub for United Airlines and Alaska Airlines, and is United’s primary transpacific gateway. SFO dates back to 1927, when it was first created and started receiving airline service. The airport has 4 terminals made up of 7 concourses in addition to many maintenance stands on account of it being a United maintenance hub.

@ran and @Mukundan_Srivatsa will not be responsible for any violations or ghosts received during the course of this event.

Please look at the Airport Charts & Runway Config. Information to be better prepared for the event.

Airport Chart

Important Runway Configuration Information

SFO has 4 runways, and its common configuration is used the vast majority of the time. This includes departures off 1L, 1R, 28L, and 28R. Please reference the airport chart above. Heavies cannot takeoff on 1L. Most international departures use 28L or 28R while most domestic departures use 1L or 1R. Please adhere to these guidelines so we don’t have a pileup at certain runways and others are empty. When taxiing from Concourse A to 28L or 28R, taxi around the back of 1L and 1R using taxiway A. Reference the airport chart above for taxiway information. When departing off 1L or 1R, caution any traffic departing or arriving to KOAK. Most importantly, Have Fun!
