13NOV20 / 0600Z - Friday Night Flight: Pink Lakes @ YSSY

[MishaCamp]

---

Welcome to this week’s FNF! This week’s event takes two forms. The first is a route network that connects key Asian locations with the aviation capital of Australia, Sydney. The second is a regional route network connecting the key Australian cities, along with a host of smaller airports, with Sydney. This gives you the ultimate flexibility to choose whatever you want to fly this week!

Secondary airports will be open based on routes flown by the A320, B737m, and Dash-8. Both Jetstar and Qantas fly the domestic routes, whilst multiple airlines fly the routes to international destinations. Why not fly your long haul and then hop in the Dash for a quick regional flight?

Which of the 'world's longest' is located in Australia?

• The world’s longest phone line
• The world’s longest rope factory
• The world’s longest highway

Very nice can’t wait to control thanks Misha

[Declan]

Yes, Yes and Yes! Can’t wait for this Friday Night Flight!

Thanks a lot Misha, this is going to be a blast!

[TheAviationGallery]

Hmm, well, Sydney isn’t that bad!

[Cameron_M]

YES YES YES this will be the best FNF ever hahaha

[anon97174548]

Hong Kong! You have made a person very happy :)

[Captain_Awerty]

Amazing FNF! Can’t wait to fly

[KaiM]

Take note, non-aussies, this is what you really ought to be afraid of. A magpie bird strike would not be pretty…

Now that I’ve gotten your attention with a meme, here’s a fun fact. Australia is also home to The Ghan, a beautiful train that runs from Adelaide to Darwin - right down the Center of the Aussie outback. It’s a beautiful trip, even more beautiful from the air. If you depart YPAD and head north towards YAYE you’ll eventually find the line. I recommend the TBM or Dash 8. From there I recommend a circuit at YAYE then continue to YPDN. Careful of the restricted airspace at YPTN, the military aren’t a fan of other jets flying over without clearance. Another fun fact, YPDN is a joint civilian/military field operated by military ATC.

[Andy]

Amazing FNF as usual Misha, cant wait to control!

[Adam]

Me like what me see… And what me see is legendary. 👀

---

In other words: good to see my local airport up there with the big guns!

Thanks Misha!

[BennyBoy_Alpha]

Nice looking FNF!

[Cameron_M]

If anyone is interested about the Pink lakes here are some locations on where to find them:

• Lake hiller located near YESP

• Lake Macdonnell located near YCDU

• Lake Bumbunga located near YCPP

Not sure if the lakes are pink on IF imagery but its well worth to go check it out.

If anyone wants to know any other good places to fly in Australia send me a PM, and ill tell you my favourite places haha.

[KaiM]

YRTI is also worth checking out for pink lakes. Not to mention it’s a beautiful part of the world and home to these cuties.

Pictures are my own, I was lucky enough to visit just over a year ago now.

[Cameron_M]

Yes rottnest Island is amazing. I’ve been to WA many times now but never been to rottnest haha. Its so expensive

[VR-DOM]

Thank you Misha for featuring VHHH again!

Wishing our experienced pilots won’t do their departure at VHHH using rwy 07L/25R, also entering/leaving the airspace from/for the mainland airspace under 15700ft. (people just dunno the north rwy is exclusively for arrival & the existence of sky wall!)

[Rhys_V]

@VR-DOM I can’t wait for VHHH to be featured too! I don’t want or need to create any drama but when VHHH gets busy, IFATC prioritizes efficiency, not realism. We love being realistic, to an exent. You can probably find posts of us going on about that for forever though…

Anyway, enjoy your FNF and if I can control VHHH, I will try to put these procedures into effect!

[Edoardo_C]

Looks nice! Can’t wait to fly from Sydney to Dallas in the A380 tomorrow evening.

[Philippe_Gilbert]

@Declan_O

[MJP_27]

Nice! I like how a lot of the Australian airports that are featured!
