About Kansas City:
For much of its existence, Kansas City International served as a hub for TWA, it was even dubbed TWA’s Airport of the Future in the 1960s. The unique circular design of its terminals was a product of TWA and pre-TSA norms, and the gates were even designed to accommodate the massive 747. Following the downfall of TWA and the introduction of modern-day airport security, Kansas City has become largely obsolete from an international perspective, but it sees plenty regional and domestic narrowbody aircraft every day. All of the large American airlines fly to Kansas City, and Southwest has designated Kansas a “focus city”. With the Covid-19 crisis, local planespotters at Kansas City have even noted that Air Canada has begun storing a few of their widebody aircraft at the airport (that’s a hint if you want to fly a widebody, look a bit further than the normal terminals). Terminal A is in the process of being completely redesigned and rebuilt, with the hopes that a new terminal will attract airlines to add more destinations from Kansas City.

Request a Gate:
If you highlight the gate you would like, the website should give you the option to quote it, click that and then post a reply with something like “I’ll take this one please” or “I’d like this gate” and I’ll mark you down for it. If it won’t let you quote it, just put in the gate and all the details into your reply and I’ll mark you down. If you want a GA gate, please let me know the plane you will be flying and the destination or if you will be doing pattern work.
Please follow any livery notations applicable to your aircraft.
Other Details:
Load in 10 to 20 minutes early at your assigned gate, and have a flight plan ready to go.
If IFATC is present follow all instructions, otherwise respect unicom and other pilots.
I will send out more details in the days leading up to the event.
I think this event has the potential to be incredibly fun so I hope you sign up!
