11JAN25/2000Z - Mexico Virtual presents: Exploring Mexico Corners - @MMMX - MMUN

That was what I was expecting… Everyone would be cleared to descend via STAR and point merge will do its job. But very rarely I have seen traffic on IF being cleared “as published” ;)

Yeah with the hub traffic at its current levels, its really a pain if no center is online to start the flow

A lot of controllers do try realism when we can though 😂

Very much appreciated!

My estimation is most pilots are not equipped with charts and it’s not fair to the controller either.

Im endeavor 319 flying in from Austin Texas down to Mexico City. just curious, will other aircraft participating in the event have priority over me, cuz in a crj 700, I am very limited in fuel. I filled right up to MTOW with fuel and am js barley gonna make it, assuming there are no delays or go arounds. I have a diversion airport chosen but that’s obviously not very ideal.

literally all arriving traffic is being put in a holding pattern. I have enough fuel for about 2 circles before y’all will witness “miracle landing on the Mexican dessert.”

Haha, happened to me yesterday at st marteen I circled like for like 2 hours and then I ran out of fuel and crashed.

oh that’s gotta suck. I’m like 40 in line for landing in Mexico now. I’m really having to consider a diversion.

alrighty thanks for the Heads up, was it busy when you where? :)

Great event! Currently landing into Cancun without approach atc and like 12 flights. Here we go!

Yea I was getting pretty pissed after a while, it was kind of a waste of my time. You might be able to tell ATC that you have emergency fuel and they might be able to clear you for landing. I tried that and they ignored me.

I could. they slowed me down so much I’m dropping flaps at fl170!!!

citrusaviatrix is currently controlling Mexico center

Js landed- wasnt my best, but im on the ground in one piece. so windy!!! anyways, made it only having to make 3 circles, and with about 10 minutes of fuel remaining. big thankyou to all the controllers. that was absoluly incredible. especially center. @CitrusAviatrix ; great job and thanks for not making me hold. and great job to all the pilots who battled those insane croswinds!!
