105kts+ wind!

Guys! I’ve just departed from OMDB and I am currently cruising. My word, I look at the wind indicator, 105kts! Can anyone tell me how!?

That is because you are flying in/with the JetStream! Jetstreams are basically fast flowing air currents that normally go from West to East. So in other words, if you fly West then you’re flying into the winds resulting in a headwind but if you’re flying East then you’re flying with the winds resulting in a tailwind!

Check out the winds here. You can adjust the altitude in the bottom right corner.

Click on the map and drag the indicator around to view the wind in a location.

If you’re lucky the winds on higher altitudes can go up to 260 knots!
