Did you enjoy the Beijing fly-out during the Chinese new year? We believe it’s a superb experience! And now, in celebration of the release of ZSPD 3D and our B77W, we present you something even crazier: A dual airport operation!
The event will take place in Shanghai, aka the “Magic City”. The city boasts 2 airports: Hongqiao Airport mainly for domestic flights, and Pudong airport for both domestic and international flights.
ZSPD is a highly anticipated airport and is finally released in 23.1. ZSSS is also resuming international/regional flights on March 26. Let’s fill up both of them!
Please avoid flying locally between two hub airports, especially during heavy traffic. Non-jet GA aircraft are not allowed. Pattern work will be at ATC’s discretion.
If there is heavy traffic, we ask you to be patient and don’t spam the ATC frequencies. We ask for your full cooperation with IFATC and to follow all expert server rules. We will not be held liable for any violations incurred on your account. Your plane, your responsibility.
Usage of professional flight plans (to include usage of SIDs, STARs, NAT-OTS and PAC-OTS, and Airways) is strongly recommended to not only enhance realism but also to ease the workload on ATC and create a more organized flow. fpltoif.com is a great website to get a flight plan.
If you are flying Air China or any other Chinese airline, you don’t have to avoid Russian Airspace. All European and North American carriers will be restricted from flying over Russian airspace and pilots should avoid any routing that passes through Russia.
Please use metric altitude when flying in Chinese airspace. More information can be found here.
Have fun, and respect each other! Don’t forget to share your awesome screenshots.
Some small tips: ZSPD is currently not using RWY 16R/34L and taxiway E, F. If you wanna be more professional, avoid using them in your flight! Ps: please always follow the ATC’s instruction if they tell you to use the rwy and taxiways above!
Nong ho! Shanghai long lockdown 1st yr anniversary comes this weekend, it’s time to turn the page on this atrocious period in Shanghai and move on to a glorious Shanghai!. Most international airlines can resume flights direct without the technical stopover in Incheon/Tianjin (due to COVID).
Although it’s a pain that Russia gets into this airspace restriction, we’ll still fly to China. I’ll fly and log from VA AFKLM, Air France flight: Paris → Shanghai → Paris (B777-300ER).
Will be controlling ZSPD and ZBAA on this event. I look forward to seeing thousands of international flights coming back to Shanghai again without the Incheon ICN technical stopover.
