This is not an ordinary event.
Xiamen Xiang’an Airport has been basically completed and will be officially opened and operated at the end of this year, while Gaoqi Airport will be closed.
Opened in 1983 as China’s first foreign-invested airport, Xiamen Gaoqi features a 3,400m runway and handled 27.4M passengers.
Next to it, Taikoo Xiamen (founded 1993) has 6 double-widebody bays, is a major Boeing 747-400 P2F conversion hub (200+ conversions), and one of few A380 heavy maintenance sites. With 10,000+ aircraft serviced for 90+ airlines, it has trained numerous technicians, forming a key aviation hub.
Maybe you passed by here for the first time and took the first photo of a jet taking off. Maybe you come here often because of business trips or other reasons, just passing by.
Whether you are a regular visitor here, or have only been here once or twice, or even someone who has heard about it for a long time but has never come in, this time, we really hope you will be there.
We don’t want to turn this farewell into a sad funeral. It is not worth being sent away with tears. It is worth being remembered, by laughter, hugs, and a final crisp clink of glasses.
This event is mainly held in the form of Fly-in, the final destination is ZSAM (Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport). You can fly to Gaoqi from all over the world, and we welcome all VA/VOs to participate in this event.
