Welcome to the second event of our Exploring the Extraordinary series! In this series me and @anon17115501 will be featuring fly outs at extraordinary airports people nearly never fly to.
The Most Isolated Island Flyout!
This event will be taking at the Mataveri Airport, located literally in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The closest island is around 1500nm away from there!
The airport of Mataveri is usually used for LATAM flights coming from Santiago and Papeete. In addition, there are 4 GA gates which are used for pattern work and Citation X. This airport has a 10843 feet long asphalt runway.
We believe this is a first in IF.
Easter Island (Spanish: Rapa Nui); known as the Most Isolated Island in the world, is located in the middle of the pacific ocean. It is nearly 4000 km away from mainland, Chile. The island is famous of their unique external monumantal statues, callled Moai. 7750 people live in this island.
